Internet Banking Changes
In our ongoing efforts to prevent fraud and keep your accounts secure, we have made some changes to online banking. Now when you login using an un-authorized computer, instead of being asked a Challenge Question you will be sent a Challenge PIN. The 5 digit Challenge PIN will be different each time you login to online banking from an un-authorized computer and will be required to access online banking. You will only need to do this once if you choose to "authorize" the computer. The home banking software will ask if you want the Challenge PIN sent to your Mobile Phone as a text message (Standard text messaging rates may apply depending upon your plan) or if you want it sent to the email address we have on record. Remember, if you choose to have the Challenge PIN sent to your email address, you must be able to retrieve the email before you will be allowed to access your account online. So, you may want the Challenge PIN sent to your mobile phone if you cannot access your e-mail from the computer you are using at that time. All computers will have to be authorized the first time logging in, even if the machine has already been authorized previously.
The Challenge PIN is also used as another layer of security if you:
- Transfer over $2,500
- Perform more than 3 transactions in one day.

If you have your e-mail program set to block e-mails from unknown sources or only from people on an approved recipient list, you will want to change your settings to allow e-mails from alerts@decu.com .
Don't close your browser while you are waiting for your Challenge PIN, just minimize it if you need to. Each time you try to login to internet banking a new Challenge PIN will be generated and sent which could get very confusing.
If you would like your Challenge PIN sent to a different device, go to My Account at the bottom of an online banking page and change the information. Follow this format to have the Challenge PIN sent as a text message:
